WELL DONE A.P.M.S.O.

Aman Siddiqui (Toronto Unit)

The crisis, which started with the industrial revolution in the eighteenth century, is still visible in countries like Pakistan. The industrialization led to the accumulation of wealth in the hands of few, which made them powerful up to the extent that they formed states within states and could change the fortunes of masses. The countries, which worked with full sense of sincerity, managed to get rid of this problem by achieving the benefits of the new system and at the same time improved the quality of life of the common man.

Unfortunately, in Pakistan the things had moved from bad to worse. Here the wealth of all the country is in the control of 2% who enjoys all economic, political and administrative powers of the country. Common men could not get the advantages of new economic system because they became the slaves of jagirdars, waderas and sardars. The deprivation of the remaining 98%, have further increased in every aspect of life.

With each passing day the grip of the ruling class over governance setup of Pakistan was increasing. At this point in the recent history the enlightened middle class felt that a leader is badly required who could lead the people towards liberty from these vultures and give the citizens of this unfortunate state hope & direction towards justice, equality, development, and growth.

By the grace of Allah, we were blessed with the Quaid when Altaf Hussain was born in the home of Mr. Nazir Ahmad and Khursheed Begum on Sep.17th. 1953. Mr. Altaf Hussain is an intellectual by birth and possesses inherent qualities of a leader and statesman. He at the very early age understood the gravity of the situation and felt the grim situation to which a common man was exposed.

To handle this enormous task, he decided to start his movement for the oppressed against the powerful from the platform of A.P.M.S.O. on 11th. June 1978. This event of the history went unnoticed for many, but within few years everybody realized its importance. The agents of the powerful played all tactics to crush A.P.M.S.O. but all their designs strengthened and broadened the horizon for this movement.

Within five years of its creation, A.P.M.S.O provided foundation for creating M.Q.M. This single contribution of A.P.M.S.O is sufficient to explain its significance. APMSO has provided Quaid-e-Tehrik with founding members of MQM and it still continuously supplies new blood to the movement who have proved to be a steel wall against all sorts of oppression by powerful. The 2% ruling elite have not only used the might of Pakistan Army to crush MQM, they have also used, for this purpose, other religious groups and those parties who have hunger for power and money. But all that resulted futile.

APMSO contribution towards the struggle between 2% ruling Elite of Pakistan and 98% deprived people has been exemplary. A.P.M.S.O.’s strength lies in the ideology given by Quaid e Tehrik, the cause and the sincerity of its workers. The presence of A.P.M.S.O was experienced in the recent incidents when every body witnessed that the so-called religious groups could not use young students for their vested interests on the streets. A.P.M.S.O. had also nurtured the minds of the young people with the realities of life they had to face in future so that they can struggle through their problems without leaving hope and concentrate on their studies. We have seen that A.P.M.S.O provided the country with optimistic, hard working, honest and intelligent workers. A.P.M.S.O. had always been there when needed, whether it is an educational program or traffic control, election duties or organization of Jalsa. This is the reason that Quaid-e-Tehrik has always praised APMSO. It has proved to be the sheet anchor of MQM. It is the hope for the future of our nation.
