Communication & Media Cell; Toronto, October 31st, 2011; The manifestations of climate change are already demonstrating how vulnerable countries can be to phenomena such as global warming and how deeply unpredictable environmental events may affect our societies. Considering the importance of rapidly deteriorating environmental conditions, MQM leader Altaf Hussain always encourages his followers to make every possible attempt to organize or participate in activities for the protection of global environment. He believes that the conservation of natural resources must become a matter of social consciousness and it is, consequently essential that we protect and improve global environment by planting trees timely and wisely.

Following the directions of Altaf Hussain, MQMs supported Muttahida Sports & Recreation Club (MSRC) joined hands in 2nd Tree Planting Event with ChiDAES Canada (Children Development Association of Eastern Sri Lanka Canada), which completed with huge success here in Mississauga, Ontario. In order to combat climate change and to bring communities and Mother Nature together, people from all walks of life - young and adults, individuals and families- gathered to safe their urban environment at a local Mississauga Park by planting trees. Workers of Urban Forestry Department of City of Mississauga, Members of MSRC and MQM Canada, GTA Chapter, Central Organizer of MQM Canada, Iqbal Qamar, Joint Central Organizer, Asif Qazi, Incharge MSRC, Iqbal Bhadur, Office-bearers and Members of Central Organizing Committee were present at the location since early morning for Tree Planting Event despite a cold rainy day.

In a note of appreciation for MQM and MSRC Canada, Sundar Markandu; President ChiDAES wrote It was really a pleasure meeting you again and Ladies, Gentlemen & Children from MSRC Club. We enjoyed the enthusiasm and willingness along with deep-hearted corporation in the Tree Planting event despite the little cold weather. It shows the solidarity and passion. As we spoke earlier, we will join together for future not-for-profit events. On behalf of ChiDAES-Canada, Thanks Again for you and all members for giving us a hand on this amazing adventure.

Member of Parliament for Mississauga-Streetsville, Brad Butt thanks MQM and MSRC Canada to be at the forefront to maximize community participation. Mississauga Councillor Sue McFaden also appreciated for a wonderful group effort.
