Toronto, Jan 5th:  A Delegation of MQM Canada visited the Consulate Generals of Sri Lanka and Indonesia on a directive of Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain to extend cooperation and support as tragic Tsunami turmoil unfolds.

The delegation included MQM Canada's Head Dr. Syed Ali, Central Organizer Aamir Waheed, Joint Central Organizer Dr. Nadeem Ehsan and Toronto Unit Committee Member Iqbal Qamar.

Delegation was warmly received by Hon. T. Soeharso Boedi Joewono, Consul General of Indonesia in Toronto, who appreciated the efforts by MQM to provide assistance and support.  MQM Canada's Central Organizer apprised him of the Worldwide Relief Campaign launched by MQM on the instructions of its Leader Mr. Altaf Hussain.  MQM Canada's Central Organizer handed out a check of $5000 to Mr. Joewono for the relief of Indonesian victims.  He also extended further assistance to Indonesia for this continued relief activity.

MQM Canada also met with the Consul General of Sri Lanka Hon. C. S. Poolokasingham at the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Toronto.  The meeting took place amid great appreciation by Mr. Poolokasingham for MQM's all out efforts for this humanitarian cause.  MQM Canada's Officials explained in details the magnitude of MQM's relief efforts for the Tsunami victims.  They also extended continued support for the relief efforts in Canada.  Later MQM Canada Head Dr. Syed Ali handed out a check of $5000 for the Tsunami relief which was accepted with the warm note of thanks and appreciation by Mr. Poolokasingham.

MQM Canada will continue its relief activities extending the efforts to various cities and different programs are being planned to collect more relief items and funds for the victims.
