MQM Canada Congratulates the Nation on 64th Independence Day

Officials of PAC & MQM Canada attended the Official Flag Hoisting Ceremony of the 64th Independence Day at Queen’s Park, Toronto.

Communication & Media Cell, MQM Canada, Toronto; August 14, 2011: To show solidarity, a delegation of MQM Canada comprises of Central Organizer, Joint Central Organizer, Member Political Awareness Committee, Workers and Office-bearers attended the Official Flag Hoisting Ceremony of the 64th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence at Toronto Legislature Building (Queen’s Park).

After the Flag Raising Ceremony, Central Organizer of MQM Canada, Iqbal Qamar met with the Premier of Ontario, Hon. Dalton McGuinty and thanked him for joining Canadians of Pakistani origin in celebrating Pakistan Independence Day. While explaining the ideology and philosophy of MQM to the Premier of Ontario, Iqbal Qamar also informed Premier the day to day activities of MQM Canada in creating bond and integrating Pakistani community to the Canadian Society.

Members of MQM Canada also met with the first Person of Pakistani Origin to become a Member of Provincial Parliament; Dr. Shafiaq Qaadri, Liberal MPP for Etobicoke-North and the first Pakistani Women Senator; Salma Atta-ullah Jan. The delegation also meet and greet with Conservative MP for Mississauga-Erindale; Bob Dechert, Liberal MP for Markham; John McCallum, Liberal MP for Scarborough-Agincourt; Jim Karygiannis, Liberal MPP for Don Valley West and Minister of Transportation; Kathleen Wynne, Liberal MPP for Mississauga-Streetsville; Bob Delaney, NDP MPP for Toronto-Danforth; Peter Tabuns.
